Hotel Pickup - Meet your friendly Egyptologist guide in your hotel lobby. Board a comfortable private vehicle and head to Saqqara, the ancient necropolis south of Cairo.
Begin your visit at the Step Pyramid of King Djoser, the world’s first large-scale stone monument. Enter the Pyramid of Unas (if open), famous for the earliest known Pyramid Texts carved into its walls. Walk through the Old Kingdom tombs to see vibrant scenes of daily life in ancient Egypt. Learn how pyramid building evolved and the importance of Saqqara as a royal and religious burial ground.
AT 10:30 AM Depart Saqqara and Drive to Giza. Stand in awe before the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the largest of the three. View the Pyramid of Khafre and Pyramid of Menkaure from up close. Visit the Panoramic Point for stunning photos of all three pyramids together. Get up close to the iconic Great Sphinx and explore the Valley Temple.
Optional Activity: Enter one of the pyramids (extra ticket required – based on availability and interest).
Stop at a nearby local restaurant and enjoy a traditional Egyptian lunch. Typical dishes include grilled meats (chicken or kofta), rice, tahini, salads, bread, and soft drinks.
