Ghana Cultural Immersion – 2-Week Dance, Culture & Community Experience in Accra

What if learning to dance was just the beginning of the journey?

Ghana Immersion is a two-week cultural experience in Accra, Ghana, bringing together dance, culture, creativity and community.

Created by Sabrine, who has organised seven editions of Ghana dance experiences since 2023, this immersion goes beyond the dance floor to explore the people, traditions, history and stories behind Ghanaian culture.

Dance remains at the heart of the experience, with classes led by local teachers. Alongside dancing, participants discover Ghana through hands-on cultural workshops, traditional food, music, craftsmanship, storytelling and encounters with local communities.

Expect to learn, explore, create, share meals, ask questions and connect with the people who carry these traditions forward.

This isn’t just about visiting Ghana or collecting experiences. It’s about approaching a culture with curiosity, appreciation and respect, understanding where traditions come from and creating opportunities for meaningful cultural exchange.

What’s included?

  • 6 private dance classes
  • 6 community dance classes

Highlights

  • -- A typical day in Ghana --
  • Every day is different, but most days look like one of these three. They are examples, and the exact plan depends on the teachers and the week.
  • -- Day type 1 - A dance day --
  • Two dance classes in one day. Classes usually run between 2 and 4 hours, depending on the teacher, so this is the full-on day.
  • We start with a private class in the morning, then a community class in the afternoon or evening, depending on the teacher's timing and availability.
  • -- Day type 2 - A culture day --
  • We start with a cultural activity in the morning, such as a hands-on workshop or a visit in the community.
  • Then, we take a community class in the afternoon or evening, so you still get your dance in, with a lighter day.
  • -- Day type 3 - A day outside Accra --
  • We spend the whole day outside the city. One of these days is for the cacao farm, the Waterfalls and the Aburi Botanical Gardens.
  • Another is for visiting Elmina Castle and spending the day in Cape Coast, to learn more about the history of the slave trade in Ghana.
