Rich Islamic heritage

It was vibrant and great for souvenirs and local coffee. Citadel views were spectacular, Mohamed Ali Mosque interior was stunning with beautiful Ottoman details. Sultan Hassan and Al-Rifa'i mosques were architectural masterpieces. Al-Azhar Mosque's history as an ancient Islamic university was fascinating.
