A Journey of Compassion: Save the Sea & Taste the Tradition

Experience a day that touches the heart and feeds the soul. Join a local movement to protect Bali’s dwindling sea turtle population before immersing yourself in the warmth of a traditional Balinese home. This is more than a tour; it’s an opportunity to leave a positive footprint on the island.

Witness a Heroic Rescue: Turtle Conservation

In the wild, baby turtles face a survival rate of less than 40%. At our partner conservation center, that survival rate jumps to 99%.

  • The Mission: Learn how dedicated local conservationists rescue eggs from beaches to protect them from predators and illegal hunting.

  • The Miracle: See the hatching process and learn about the biology of these ancient sea voyagers.

  • The Release: Take part in the most moving moment of the day—releasing a one-month-old turtle back into the vast Indian Ocean. Be the one to cheer them on as they start their journey in the wild.

Taste the Heritage: Lunch in a Balinese Home

After your time at the coast, we invite you into a private Balinese housing complex. Forget the “tourist restaurants”—today, you are a guest of a local family.

  • Authentic Atmosphere: Explore the unique architecture of a traditional family compound.

  • Home-Cooked Magic: Enjoy a special meal prepared by a Balinese housewife. These are family recipes passed down through generations, cooked with love and local spices.

Why join this tour program?

By participating in this tour, you are indirectly supporting the volunteers who work tirelessly to protect these turtles. Their survival in the wild is increasingly fragile, and your involvement helps ensure that conservation efforts can continue.

What did the volunteers do to save this turtle?

Volunteers, using their expertise, patrol the beach during certain months to rescue turtle eggs from the sand and relocate them to a safe shelter. The eggs are carefully placed in a prepared area, where detailed records are kept. Once the hatchlings emerge, they are placed in holding ponds where they are cared for during their most vulnerable period, protecting them from predators. In the wild, only about 10% of turtle eggs would survive, but here, the survival rate is over 99%. Once the baby turtles are healthy and strong, typically after about a month, they are released back onto the beach to return to their natural habitat.

I'm very interested and want to help more. How can I help?

During certain months, mother turtles come ashore to lay their eggs. If you visit during this period, you can participate in the search and rescue of turtle eggs. Additionally, during the maintenance phase, when many volunteers may be busy supporting their families, you can assist by cleaning the baby turtle pools and helping with other necessary upkeep tasks.
