Cycling Adventure to Pac Po
After a hearty breakfast at the motel, we set off on our ride to Pac Po. The journey took us through serene villages along a smooth tarmac road, offering stunning views of unspoiled landscapes. Along the way, we interacted with members of the hill tribes and observed children making their way to and from school.
The route became gently undulating as we approached Pac Po, a place of immense historical significance. Known as the cradle of the Vietnamese Revolution (1930–1945), Pac Po holds a special place in the hearts of the Vietnamese people. It was here that President Ho Chi Minh returned to Vietnam after 30 years abroad, choosing this location to lay the groundwork for the first Vietnamese Revolution. Situated 108 kilometers from Cao Bang, Pac Po lies between two mountain ranges, with a river and stream forming a natural border with China.
During our visit, we explored this historic site, gaining insights into Ho Chi Minh’s life and the early days of the revolution. It was a chance to pay homage to the trailblazers and Ho Chi Minh himself, who inspired the Vietnamese people to rise against Japanese and French forces in 1945, leading to the country’s independence.
After exploring Pac Po, we prepared for an ascent to the Gate of Heaven, where we enjoyed a scenic picnic lunch at the summit. Post-lunch, we challenged ourselves on the climb before descending to Tra Linh Town to conclude the day’s adventure.
