From the peaceful towns of Mỹ Tho and Bến Tre to the bustling floating markets of Cần Thơ, the vibrant flower farms of Sa Đéc, and the breathtaking, waterlogged landscapes of Châu Đốc, the Mekong Delta offers endless experiences to explore. Activity Overview: Day 1: Saigon – Mekong Homestay(30KM) – Leaving Saigon at 8:00 AM for the Mekong Delta. The journey takes about 1.5 hours to reach the peaceful Mekong countryside, where we begin biking to explore the idyllic landscapes. Cycle through vibrant dragon fruit orchards and lush green paddy fields. Stop at a local restaurant for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy approximately two hours of kayaking around the island to experience life on the Mekong River. Overnight stay at a local homestay. Cycling distance: 30–40 km | Kayaking: Approximately 1 hour. Day 2: Homestay – Tra Vinh (50KM) – An early wake-up is required as we paddle along the Mekong River to witness a breathtaking sunrise, followed by a visit to the bustling local morning market. Later in the morning, we begin cycling across four islands, immersing ourselves in the daily lives of the locals. Around noon, we arrive in Cholach township for lunch and spend some time learning about the region’s renowned bonsai cultivation and ornamental tree care. In the afternoon, we embark on a long-distance ride along the Co Chien River, one of the Mekong River’s main branches, before reaching Tra Vinh in the late afternoon. Overnight in Tra Vinh. Cycling distance: 50–60 km | Kayaking: 1 hour. Day 3: Tra Vinh – Bac Lieu (70KM) – Tra Vinh and Soc Trang offer scenic and enjoyable cycling routes. The dirt tracks and winding concrete paths take you through lush green landscapes, farmlands, and charming villages. Along the way, you’ll pass by Khmer temples and primary schools in rural communities, providing a glimpse into the local way of life. Overnight stay in Bac Lieu Town. Day 4: Bac Lieu –  Rach Gia ( 80KM) – Today’s cycling adventure highlights a network of natural creeks winding through remote villages and vast rice paddies. Along the way, you’ll pass by small local floating markets and cycle on quiet asphalt countryside roads, sharing space with locals on small ferries as you journey through picturesque riverside villages. The ride concludes with a transfer by van or bus to Rach Gia. Day 5: Rach Gia – Chau Doc (75KM) – Today’s ride takes you off-road, cycling along narrow paths and single tracks through villages, wild grass fields, and cajeput forests along the river—racing alongside local cargo boats. You’ll follow a scenic single track through eucalyptus fields, leading to hilly country backroads in the Mekong Delta. Along the way, witness local farming activities, including chili, tapioca, and corn harvesting. The day concludes with a boat trip to explore the serene Tra Su Cajeput Forest. Overnight in Chau Doc Town. Day 6: Chau Doc -Cao Lanh (70KM) – Today’s ride takes us toward Cao Lanh via Cho Moi Town, home to the sacred Hoa Hao Buddhism temple. In the afternoon, we cycle to a historic monastery built by the French over 120 years ago—the first of its kind in Indochina, established in 1874. The journey continues through scenic islets before reaching Cao Lanh. Overnight in Cao Lanh. Day 7: Cao Lanh – Can Tho( 65KM) – Cao Lanh is a major city and a newly developed town following the Vietnam War. Sa Dec, the former capital of Dong Thap province, is a charming and peaceful city known for its tree-lined streets and fading colonial villas. After cycling through the picturesque Sa Dec flower plantation, we stop for lunch at the historic Huynh Thuy Le Ancient House. In the afternoon, your guide will lead you along a unique, shaded dirt track, allowing you to take in the scenic landscapes on the way to Can Tho City. Day 8: Cantho – Saigon (30KM) – The highlight of your last day is to have a boat trip to Cai Rang floating market. Then you will have half-day cycling to Vinh Long on a real back road before we return to HCM by vehicle. Ends of our wonderful Mekong Adventures.
